2017 Mazda CX-5

When many drivers go out shopping for a new car, they might factor things like design and driving experience into their decision, but one of the most important things to consider is safety. The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is quickly becoming one of Mazda’s best-selling family cars. That’s why Mazda CX-5 safety features have been engineered with the modern family in mind, to provide parents with a practical, affordable ride that protects and provides more security than ever. In fact, the IIHS has named the Mazda CX-5 a Top Safety Pick+.

The IIHS is one of the organizations besides the federal government (the NHTSA) that subjects vehicles to crash tests and other safety tests and rates them based on how they perform. The IIHS found that the Mazda CX-5 not only scored the highest rating of “Good” in every crash test, but also earned a Superior rating for its optional front crash prevention system. Additionally, the crossover’s available LED headlights earned top ratings, too. By meeting all these criteria, the IIHS tacked the extra “+” onto the end of its “Top Safety Pick” title, the top accolade from the organization.

2017 Mazda CX-5 Redesign

2017 Mazda CX-5

The Mazda CX-5 compact crossover has been gaining ground in the hotly-contested segment and the automaker is looking to continue its success. The latest redesign brings a premium interior packed with more technologies, a new engine, and styling updates. The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is on the path to challenge premium models in its segment.

The previous Mazda CX-5 boasted a starting MSRP just over $24,000, putting it in the realm of competitors like the Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson. The latest redesign brings a slightly higher price and a long list of additional standard equipment.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 starts at $24,985, a $910 increase compared to the 2016 model. That pricing puts it in the range of the Honda CR-V. While it may seem more expensive, the sheer amount of standard features added more than make up for the difference.

The redesigned CX-5 boasts a more powerful 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated to an automatic transmission. Drivers will also enjoy standard LED headlights, G-Vectoring Control, Smart City Brake Support, and a 7-inch touchscreen display complete with the Commander knob.

Those additional features join standard equipment from the previous year, including 17-inch aluminum wheels, push-ignition, keyless entry, and more.

We here at Steet Ponte Mazda can’t wait for the arrival of the redesign Mazda CX-5!

2015 Mazda CX-5 Is a Safety Super Star

2014 Mazda CX-5The 2015 Mazda CX-5 has earned the highest possible overall five-star safety rating from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The perfect score applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the 2015 CX-5.

Although the CX-5 has not yet been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, it is an IIHS Top Safety Pick+, and had earned “good” scores in all crash tests. At this point, it’s difficult to directly compare vehicles, since federal safety scores are just beginning to be released for 2015 models. According to Edmunds.com, “it should be noted that the 2015 CX-5 already outpaces several competitors in this area, including the 2014 Ford Escape and Toyota RAV4, which earned four-star overall ratings”.

Every CX-5 comes with standard antilock brakes, stability and traction control, daytime running lights, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags. Mazda also provides the option for an automatic crash notification feature.

We take great pride in the safety of our cars. The CX-5 is a car you can feel really confident about loading your most precious cargo, your family, into.  Stop by Steet Ponte Mazda today to test drive a CX-5 and experience top-of-the-line safety for yourself!

SKYACTIV Technology More Popular than Ever; Over 1 Million Vehicles Produced

2014 Mazda6 SKYACTIVMazda’s SKYACTIV technology is that rarest of products: a product where the execution of an idea actually surpasses the brilliance of the original idea. SKYACTIV technology encompasses a wide range of adjustments to Mazda vehicles, all of which are designed to improve the environmental impact and safety record of these vehicles without sacrificing the “zoom-zoom” power that’s always made Mazda famous.

Customers have responded in extremely positive ways to SKYACTIV technologies, as more than 1 million vehicles equipped with these technologies have now been produced as of March 2014. Three current Mazdas feature the whole SKYACTIV suite, the Mazda CX-5, Mazda6, and Mazda3. Together, 1,040,000 of these vehicles have been produced as of the end of March.

All three vehicles feature better engines and transmissions and reduced overall weight to improve fuel economy. Plus, with Mazda’s new KODO-Soul of Motion design language, these vehicles look just as good as they drive.

“At Mazda we put everything into developing our SKYACTIV vehicles, and it is because these models have struck a chord with a wide range of customers all over the world that we have reached the one million-unit landmark” Masamichi Kogai, Representative Director, President and CEO of Mazda, said. “On behalf of Mazda, let me express my gratitude to each and every person who bought one of our cars. With our undying challenging spirit and a great deal of hard work, Mazda will continue to make even more appealing cars that will enrich the lives of their owners, and help us build a strong and lasting bond with our customers.”

If you’re looking for a car whose internal organs beat with a human pulse, a pulse that aims to treat the environment and the road with equal respect, you’re looking for one of Steet Ponte Mazda’s SKYACTIV-equipped vehicles. See you soon!
