2017 Mazda CX-5

When many drivers go out shopping for a new car, they might factor things like design and driving experience into their decision, but one of the most important things to consider is safety. The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is quickly becoming one of Mazda’s best-selling family cars. That’s why Mazda CX-5 safety features have been engineered with the modern family in mind, to provide parents with a practical, affordable ride that protects and provides more security than ever. In fact, the IIHS has named the Mazda CX-5 a Top Safety Pick+.

The IIHS is one of the organizations besides the federal government (the NHTSA) that subjects vehicles to crash tests and other safety tests and rates them based on how they perform. The IIHS found that the Mazda CX-5 not only scored the highest rating of “Good” in every crash test, but also earned a Superior rating for its optional front crash prevention system. Additionally, the crossover’s available LED headlights earned top ratings, too. By meeting all these criteria, the IIHS tacked the extra “+” onto the end of its “Top Safety Pick” title, the top accolade from the organization.

Redesigned Mazda CX-5

It’s easy to love the Mazda CX-5. It’s the perfect crossover for any family or any adventure. But now, it’s getting even better! The new Mazda CX-5 is redesigned and ready to take on the road.

The 2017 MAzda CX-5 at Steet Ponte MazdaThe CX-5 is stepping it up with performance. You’ll have a luxuriously silent ride thanks to sound-deadening materials that help reduce road noise. Plus, your ride will be smoother thanks to suspension tuning that reduces bumps on the road.

Don’t worry, though—that impressive fuel efficiency isn’t changing. Even with an engine that delivers 187 horsepower, you’ll still get 29 mpg on the highway.*

If you love innovative technology, the redesigned CX-5 has plenty of that, too. A head-up display puts important information directly in front of you by reflecting it off the windshield. This means that to get information you need, you don’t have to take your eyes off the road.

You’ll get plenty of space with the CX-5, too. With all seats down, you’ll have up to 59.6 cubic feet of space. However, don’t worry! If you have passengers, you’ll still have an ample 30.9 cubic feet of space behind the second row.

If you want to see the Mazda CX-5 for yourself, come down to Steet Ponte Mazda today and take it for a spin!

2017 Mazda CX-5 Redesign

2017 Mazda CX-5

The Mazda CX-5 compact crossover has been gaining ground in the hotly-contested segment and the automaker is looking to continue its success. The latest redesign brings a premium interior packed with more technologies, a new engine, and styling updates. The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is on the path to challenge premium models in its segment.

The previous Mazda CX-5 boasted a starting MSRP just over $24,000, putting it in the realm of competitors like the Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson. The latest redesign brings a slightly higher price and a long list of additional standard equipment.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 starts at $24,985, a $910 increase compared to the 2016 model. That pricing puts it in the range of the Honda CR-V. While it may seem more expensive, the sheer amount of standard features added more than make up for the difference.

The redesigned CX-5 boasts a more powerful 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated to an automatic transmission. Drivers will also enjoy standard LED headlights, G-Vectoring Control, Smart City Brake Support, and a 7-inch touchscreen display complete with the Commander knob.

Those additional features join standard equipment from the previous year, including 17-inch aluminum wheels, push-ignition, keyless entry, and more.

We here at Steet Ponte Mazda can’t wait for the arrival of the redesign Mazda CX-5!

Mazda6 and CX-5 Earn 2015 J.D. Power APEAL Study Awards

The Mazda6 and CX-5 are no strangers to acclaim from auto experts. We love even more, however, when our customers go to bat for their favorite Mazda models, testifying of their overall quality and appeal. In the J.D. Power and Associates Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) Study of customers’ opinions after 90 days of ownership, both the Mazda6 and CX-5 were named winners in their segments.

2015 Mazda CX-5 - J.D. Power APEAL StudyThe 2015 Mazda6 claimed its second consecutive win as the most “APEAL-ing” vehicle in the “Midsize Car” class; and the 2015 CX-5 won its second award as winner of the “Compact SUV” segment. The CX-5 also took top honors in 2013.

The APEAL Study is based on eight areas of vehicle evaluation: engine/transmission; ride, handling, and braking; comfort/convenience; seats; cockpit/instrument panel; heating, ventilation, and cooling; sound system; and styling/exterior. The survey asks customers to relay their experiences after owning the new vehicle for 90 days; and when the results came in, it was clear that the Mazda6 and CX-5 had passed the test with flying colors.

The models’ appeal only gets better with the 2016 versions.

“Since going on sale in February, the refreshed 2016 Mazda6 and CX-5 have provided car-shoppers with what were already segment-leading vehicles and improved upon them with new technologies, premium materials and enhanced style,” said Jim O’Sullivan, Mazda’s North American president and CEO.

“We’re honored that J.D. Power and our customers recognize our relentless efforts, and we look to keep building the best cars and crossovers we can to meet the needs of discerning drivers.”
