In a news release, Mazda announced that it has finally begun 2016 Mazda MX-5 production, meaning less time until we see the redesigned roadster for sale. The MX-5 is currently being built for the Japanese market, but we’re hoping it’ll make it to our side of the pond soon.
The car will go in sale in Japan sometime around June, when we’re likely to see a flood of reviews for the vehicle leak online. The release adds that after the Japan sales begin, the “the MX-5 will be progressively rolled out to overseas markets.”
Mazda believes that the latest MX-5 fully represents its philosophy of the “pursuit of driving pleasure.” In fact, the MX-5 holds the Guinness World Record for world’s best-selling two-seater sports car, so consumers must agree.
Here’s the super-cool track version of the MX-5 to hold you over, while you anxiously await the vehicle to hit US dealerships. Let us know what you think of the new MX-5 in the comments.
