Mazda2 Celebrates new Model with Special Edition Sedan

There’s a new version of the Mazda2 out there on the roads now—and the brand is taking the opportunity to show off some exciting new versions of the model as a celebration. The Black Edition and White Edition of the new Mazda2 might only be available in the UK right now, but that doesn’t keep us from getting excited about them here in the States.

Mazda2 Special Edition SedanOf course, as the names of the special edition sedan models imply, these vehicles come with some killer paint options. The Black Edition comes with Jet Black Mica paint while the White Edition wears a Crystal White Pearlescent coat—and together, they both add up to the most stylish look the Mazda2 has ever seen. There’s power underneath that exterior, too, thanks to a 1.3-liter engine and a five-speed manual transmission that makes these sedans sporty and zippy enough to conquer any road.

“The Mazda2 Black Edition and White Edition represent a last chance for our customers to get their hands on a unique version of the current 5-door Mazda2,” said UK sales director Peter Allibon. “As with every Mazda special edition model, they combine bespoke exterior and interior styling with a lavish standard equipment specification, offering customers stand-out individuality and outstanding value for money.”

Mazda2 Is a Hatchback Car That’s a True Spectacle

2014 Mazda2The 2016 Mazda2 is definitely a model that auto buyers can get excited about! The little hatchback car will be showing off a new design, with a longer body that allows for more passengers and storage space. The Mazda2 will also be safer than ever, with top of the line features like a blind spot monitor, a lane departure warning system to keep the driver in their lane, and a cross-traffic system that monitors the rear of the car.

The Car Connection tells drivers to “expect the Mazda2 to retain its status as one of the sportiest-driving subcompacts.” The car is striking in its appearance, and it offers plenty of space for storage and passengers on long road trips.

We are looking forward to the company releasing more specs on the car in 2015. Plan your test drive now so you can try out the new Mazda2 here at Steet Ponte Mazda!

2016 Mazda2 Will be Unveiled at Paris Motor Show

2014 Mazda2The Mazda2 has been on the market in its current form for seven years now, but that is soon about to change. Mazda has finally revealed its successor and announced its unveiling would occur at the Paris Motor Show this October.

The new 2016 Mazda2 takes heavily after the Hazumi concept the automaker had previously unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, including the wheel design and the sharply creased front end. This brings it more in line with the rest of the Mazda lineup, like the Mazda3, Mazda6, and CX-5, which are all characterized by the KODO “soul of motion” design language.

Details are so far limited, though we do know engine options will center around a 1.5-liter four-cylinder in both gasoline and diesel versions. It’s unlikely the diesel will make its way to the United States, but there are rumors of a PHEV model. It’ll also include Mazda’s MZD connectivity suite and i-Activesense safety technology.

Mazda March Sales Soar on Strength of Mazda2, Miata

2014 Mazda2

The winter months have been long and tough, but they are mercifully drawing to their natural end. So, too, ends the streak of slow sales month for the auto industry, as is evidenced by Mazda’s March sales success. Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) reported March sales of 34,903 units, which marks a 9 percent increase over March 2013. This brings the year-to-date total up to 78,282, putting Mazda a mere .3 percent off of last year’s pace.

“As March’s weather signaled a warming trend from the frigid temperatures seen in January and February, the month saw customers return to a shopping mood.  And in March, Mazda’s sales continued to grow, not only in quantity, but in quality as well,” said Ron Stettner, Vice President, Sales, MNAO, in the company’s press release. “We have taken a long-term view to the strength of our business and the future value of our vehicles, in order to bolster residual values through strong transaction prices and managed incentives.  When a Mazda buyer chooses a Mazda, they are making a stronger long-term investment.”

Two of the biggest winners in March were the Mazda2 and the Miata. Mazda sold 2,202 units, marking an impressive 138.1 percent year-over-year increase, and the MX-5 leapt 31.1 percent year-over-year with 751 units sold. The surge in sales may well be attributable to the reveal of the HAZUMI concept, which is purported to be the precursor to the next-gen Mazda2, and the Miata preparing to celebrate its 25th anniversary (possibly by revealing its next-gen interpretation) at the upcoming New York Auto Show.
