Forty-Four Mazda MX-5 Miatas Used to Pop the Question

2014 Mazda MX-5 MiataWe’ve heard of creative proposals and we know a thing or two about Mazda enthusiasts, but we’ve never seen the two combined quite like this. Forty-four Mazda MX-5 Miatas were strategically parked in a lot to spell a question one man hoped would be answered with happily ever after.

An aerial photographer and member of the forum solicited the help of his fellow MX-5 fans, asking to borrow their vehicles for a special proposal. At the appointed time and place, 44 MX-5 Miatas were on hand to spell “Marry Me?”.

Once they were arranged, the hopeful groom-to-be asked his girlfriend to check out what she thought would be overhead shots of real estate taken by an unmanned drone. Among the photos captured was the parking lot where the Miatas helped our photographer friend pop the question.

Don’t worry. She said yes!

We at Steet Ponte Mazda enjoy learning how Mazda’s vehicles are bringing together fans and now creating new families. Has Mazda played an integral role in your special moments? We’d love for you to share your stories with us in the comments below.

NHTSA Gives 2015 Mazda3 Five-Star Rating

Mazda3 Five-Star RatingThe National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has awarded the 2015 Mazda3 with the highest five-star overall safety rating. To earn this rating, the Mazda3 received a five-star rating in both the front and side crash tests and a four star rating in the rollover crash test.

The 2015 Mazda3 five-star rating applies to both the sedan and hatchback models.

Standard safety features on the Mazda3 include stability control, daytime running lights, and antilock brakes. The available Mazda Radar Cruise Control works to maintain a set speed and safe distance between you and the car in front and will even slow down to 19 mph, if necessary.

Also keeping you safe is a suite of available high-tech driving features, such as the Forward Obstruction Warning, Smart City Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring, and more.

The 2015 Mazda3 will be arriving at Steet Ponte Mazda soon. If you’re looking for the best in safety, give us a call and we’ll let you know when it arrives.

Celebrate National Zoo and Aquarium Month

June is National Zoo and Aquarium Month, and what better way to kick off the summer than with a trip to your local zoo. Just 15 minutes away from Steet Ponte Mazda is the beautiful Utica Zoo.

Located in Roscoe-Conkling Park, the Utica Zoo has been serving the region for 100 years. Its original walkways and landscape architecture was designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, the same man who designed New York City’s Central Park.

This year, the zoo is celebrating its 100th anniversary, which means lots of special events throughout the summer, including a 100th Birthday Celebration on July 20. That day, the zoo will be offering free admission for everyone, live entertainment, special presentations, and food.

Normal operating hours are 10:00 am to 4:45 pm. Admission for an adult is $7.75 and is $4.75 for children. There are hundreds of animals from around the world at the zoo including African lions, ostriches, multiple varieties of birds, wolves, and more.

Will you be visiting your local zoo or aquarium this month?

2015 Mazda CX-5 Is a Safety Super Star

2014 Mazda CX-5The 2015 Mazda CX-5 has earned the highest possible overall five-star safety rating from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The perfect score applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the 2015 CX-5.

Although the CX-5 has not yet been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, it is an IIHS Top Safety Pick+, and had earned “good” scores in all crash tests. At this point, it’s difficult to directly compare vehicles, since federal safety scores are just beginning to be released for 2015 models. According to, “it should be noted that the 2015 CX-5 already outpaces several competitors in this area, including the 2014 Ford Escape and Toyota RAV4, which earned four-star overall ratings”.

Every CX-5 comes with standard antilock brakes, stability and traction control, daytime running lights, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags. Mazda also provides the option for an automatic crash notification feature.

We take great pride in the safety of our cars. The CX-5 is a car you can feel really confident about loading your most precious cargo, your family, into.  Stop by Steet Ponte Mazda today to test drive a CX-5 and experience top-of-the-line safety for yourself!
