The Mazda6 and CX-5 are no strangers to acclaim from auto experts. We love even more, however, when our customers go to bat for their favorite Mazda models, testifying of their overall quality and appeal. In the J.D. Power and Associates Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) Study of customers’ opinions after 90 days of ownership, both the Mazda6 and CX-5 were named winners in their segments.
The 2015 Mazda6 claimed its second consecutive win as the most “APEAL-ing” vehicle in the “Midsize Car” class; and the 2015 CX-5 won its second award as winner of the “Compact SUV” segment. The CX-5 also took top honors in 2013.
The APEAL Study is based on eight areas of vehicle evaluation: engine/transmission; ride, handling, and braking; comfort/convenience; seats; cockpit/instrument panel; heating, ventilation, and cooling; sound system; and styling/exterior. The survey asks customers to relay their experiences after owning the new vehicle for 90 days; and when the results came in, it was clear that the Mazda6 and CX-5 had passed the test with flying colors.
The models’ appeal only gets better with the 2016 versions.
“Since going on sale in February, the refreshed 2016 Mazda6 and CX-5 have provided car-shoppers with what were already segment-leading vehicles and improved upon them with new technologies, premium materials and enhanced style,” said Jim O’Sullivan, Mazda’s North American president and CEO.
“We’re honored that J.D. Power and our customers recognize our relentless efforts, and we look to keep building the best cars and crossovers we can to meet the needs of discerning drivers.”
