How to Spread holiday Cheer in Your Neighborhood

Holiday Cheer in Your NeighborhoodThis time of year is undeniably the most joyous, but for some people, their joy may be dampened for one reason or another. If you know of people who are feeling more downhearted this Christmas season, here are a few simple ways to spread holiday cheer in your neighborhood.

  • Order a pizza. Sometimes, a little bit of food is all it takes to make someone’s day brighter. Send an unannounced pizza delivery to a friend. There is no other comfort food quite like a hot pizza.
  • Buy the gas. The next time you stop to fill up your car, offer to buy someone else’s gas. Perhaps you see a mom with a minivan full of kids or an older gentleman who is struggling to get in and out of his car. Just imagine how great you would feel if someone paid for your gas.
  • Give a gift card. Head to your local grocery store and purchase a few gift cards for the store in whatever amount works for you. Then, walk around and look for people who seem like they could use a smile. Hand them the gift card, wish them a Merry Christmas, and walk away.
  • 12 Days of Christmas. Pick out a neighbor who lives nearby who could use a little cheer this holiday season. Then, as a family, come up with 12 gifts you could share with them—cookies, cards, decorations, dinner, etc. Each of the 12 nights leading up to Christmas, sneak over to their house, leave the gift on the porch, ring the doorbell, and hide. On the last night, you can announce your presence, if you want, or just leave all the gifts as a mystery.

2015 Mazda Drive for Good Helps Those in Need

2015 Mazda Drive for Good - 2016 Mazda CX-3The holiday season is a time when people feel more generous and want to help those in need. Every year at this time, Mazda holds what it calls the Drive for Good to benefit both national and local nonprofit agencies.

“Mazda Drive for Good isn’t about selling cars. It is about giving back and building awareness,” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO, MNAO, in a statement. “Many people may think that we are building awareness for Mazda, but part of our goal is to build awareness for our nonprofit partners, that helps them long term, not just during the Mazda Drive for Good event.”

In the 2015 Mazda Drive for Good campaign, Mazda will donate $150 to one of four national charities or 46 local groups for every new Mazda purchased or leased between November 23rd and January 4th. In addition, for every test drive during this time, Mazda will donate one hour of volunteer work from its associates.
