2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF Features

The popular Mazda MX-5 Miata is now offered in hardtop in the MX-5 Miata RF. The RF has many of the same features as the Miata with some exciting new features and fantastic looks. Set to hit showrooms in early 2017, the RF is now on sale for presale orders starting at an MSRP of $31,555.

Mazda - MX-5 Miata RF FeaturesThe RF will come in three trim levels, including the Launch Edition, the Grand Touring, and the Club. All three will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options from Mazda’s innovative SKYACTIV parts lineup.

The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF features carry over from its soft-top counterpart, the award-winning convertible Miata, but there are a few new features drivers will love. The RF will come with a full-color 4.6-inch TFT gauge for incredible image quality, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert in the Club trim, and two new paint color options.

The Miata RF will come standard with the MAZDA CONNECT infotainment system and 7-inch touchscreen with phone integration, as well as LED headlights and taillights along with other style and comfort features.

Opting for the sportier Club trim gets you aerodynamic body extensions and limited slip differential on the manual, plus a bunch of available manual-only performance upgrades like Brembo brakes and lightweight wheels.

The Grand Touring comes with leather seating surfaces, an Adaptive Front Lighting System, and Lane Departure Warning, among other features.

Mazda Now Accepting Preorders for Hardtop MX-5 Miata

hardtop MX-5 MiataLike convertibles? Of course you do. With their association with free-spirited leisure and high-end luxury, owning a convertible sports car is on most people’s bucket lists. A favorite among drivers is the Mazda MX-5 Miata, with its relatively affordable price in comparison to other sporty, luxurious convertibles and its lightweight, zippy performance. However, the fact of the matter is that convertibles—with their noisy tops and often-cramped interiors—are often impractical for daily life, which is why the new hardtop MX-5 Miata—called the RF—is such a ground-breaking addition to Mazda’s lineup.

Preorders for the MX-5 Miata RF began recently on September 26th, with the first 1,000 models coming in a special Launch Edition. Long-time loyal Mazda fans get first dibs on the Launch Edition models, having received personalized codes with a limited-time offer attached. Of course, even if you don’t need the Launch Edition, the release of the Mazda MX-5 Miata RF is a big moment for the brand. Mazda representatives predict that the RF will sell more than the standard MX-5 Miata due to the fact that its hard convertible top will reduce wind noise and give the model more of an aerodynamic coupe feel when the top is up.

The hardtop MX-5 Miata RF Launch Edition went on sale to the general public on October 3rd, provided any of them were left. The 25th Anniversary Edition of the standard MX-5 Miata sold out in less than ten minutes back in 2014, after all.

New Miata Club Edition Makes Waves at New York Auto Show

The Mazda MX-5 Miata has made its reputation as the world’s best and most iconic two-door roadster—not as a throaty and angry muscle car. At the New York Auto Show, however, Mazda just revealed the Miata Club Edition, which the automaker touts as the “most aggressive” Miata ever. While it still doesn’t have a crazy huge engine, the styling of the new Club Edition hits much harder.

Miata Club EditionBasically, if you want a Miata but you want it to look just a little leaner and meaner, the new Club Edition is the way to go. It still features a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine—good for 155 horsepower and 144 lb-ft of torque—so it won’t guzzle gas like an angry muscle car, but it might just look a little more like one.

The new Miata does come with a bevy of performance improvements in other areas like suspension, handling, and more—so the Club Edition definitely ups the driving experience for those lucky enough to get their hands on one. Come see us at Steet Ponte Mazda to learn more about the 2016 Miata or the Club Edition specifically. And check out all Mazda’s stuff at the New York Auto Show right now!

Mazda Downloadable Car Pack Lets You Drive the new MX-5 in Forza Horizon 2

The all-new, fourth-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata isn’t exactly the most expensive roadster out there. In fact, at under $25,000, it’ll be one of the coolest cars you can buy for the price.

Mazda MX-5 Miata - Mazda Downloadable Car PackUnfortunately, it’s not quite here yet. The car isn’t set to hit Steet Ponte Mazda until later this year at the earliest, and even when it does, you might not have 25 grand lying around. But you might have an Xbox, which can basically get you halfway.

On March 17th, a new Mazda downloadable car pack was made available on Forza Horizon 2 (a racing video game on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One), which includes the greatest MX-5s from 1990 all the way up to the upcoming 2016 model.

The automaker is also organizing a competition with a real-life MX-5 Miata as the ultimate reward. Those interested need to lap the virtual car around the Sisteron Perimeter Sprint Circuit, with the two fastest slated to take part in a head-to-head race in June. The winner will get his very own 2016 MX-5!

Accessories Concept Miata Debuts in Chicago

The Mazda MX-5 Miata has returned to its genesis; where it all began. That is the Chicago Auto Show, where in 1989, Mazda delivered a game-changer in the beloved first generation of the iconic roadster. This year’s show marked the debut of the next-generation Miata adorned in a concept package that really turned heads.

Accessories Concept Miata“There is so much MX-5 history at the Chicago Auto Show, and we wanted to continue building on that,” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO, Mazda North American Operations. “The MX-5 is the soul of our company, and its enthusiast following both inside and outside of Mazda drives us to keep innovating new ideas for it and the rest of our lineup.”

To that end, the accessories concept Miata dazzled with its gloss-black aero kit, consisting of a spoiler, side skirts, and down-force wings to the front and rear bumpers. The roadster also sports red-calipered Brembo brakes on all four BBS forged black 17-inch wheels. Lastly, the package includes a sporty carbon-fiber luggage rack weighing only two pounds.

The new 2016 Mazda MX-5, available this summer, features the innovations today’s drivers crave as well as its predecessors’ pure joy to drive. It’s the best of both worlds at Steet Ponte Mazda!

2015 Mazda Miata Continues Award-Winning Tradition

2015 Mazda MiataThe Mazda MX-5 Miata is probably one of the most recognizable sports cars on the road.  It’s low-profile, succinct convertible design is very much part of its trademark.  Sporting a design that harkens back to the fun and snappy European sports cars of yore, it’s also a magnet for awards. About two hundred of them, to be exact.  That comes as no surprise when one takes a good long gander at the 2015 Mazda Miata.

A peek under the hood quickly explains the Miata’s reputation for quickness.  This year, you’ll see a 2.0-liter four-cylinder motor in there. The 2015 Mazda Miata’s engine yields 158 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque.  Considering it’s light design, those ponies will undoubtedly get you cooking in no time!

The new Miata still features the classic drop-top.  Just like the original model released in 1990, it can be folded back with one hand.  This time around though, you can get it with a retractable hard-top.

Other fantastic amenities abound: The Miata is outfitted with heated leather seats.  There’s keyless entry and a 7-speaker stereo by Bose. The trunk is unbelievably sizey, with 5.3 cubic feet of room.

These and other awesome features are what helped the Miata win the Guinness World Record for “best-selling two-seat roadster!” If you would like to be a small part of that world record, stop by Steet Pointe Mazda, where you can test drive the new 2015 Mazda Miata.
