2017 Mazda CX-9 Production Starts in Japan

2016 Mazda CX-9 - 2017 Mazda CX-9 ProductionAt the 2015 L.A. Auto show we were introduced to the 2017 Mazda CX-9; a seven-seat crossover SUV that is set to go on sale this spring. The 2017 CX-9 went into production earlier this week in Japan and we couldn’t be more excited.

The Mazda CX-9 is a three-row vehicle that comfortably seats seven. The spacious interior will have brown Nappa leather seats and wood trim. The 2017 Mazda CX-9 will feature an all-new turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 250-horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque. The “Kodo-Soul of Motion” design philosophy from Mazda will also be evident on the 2017 Mazda CX-9. This design philosophy is featured on the new Mazda2, Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-5 and CX-3 models.

We have high hopes for the CX-9 and so does Mazda. Mazda expects about 80 percent of global sales of the CX-9 to come from the United States. Here at Steet Ponte Mazda, we are anxiously awaiting the spring and the arrival of the 2017 Mazda CX-9! Stay tuned for more information on the 2017 CX-9!

2016 Mazda CX-3 - Tailgate this Football SeasonThe 2016 Mazda CX-3 is the youngest of the three making its debut earlier this year. This crossover is up for your adventures, especially your tailgating ones! It has a spacious cargo area with 12.4 cubic feet of storage behind the second-row seats. We recommend this crossover for smaller groups since it has seating for up to 5.

The 2016 Mazda CX-5 is perfect for families or groups of friends that are looking to take a little more to their tailgate event. It still has seating for up to 5 but has a larger cargo area. You can pack in a larger cooler with your favorite beverages and more room for snacks and food.

The 2015 Mazda CX-9 is the party vehicle. It has seating for up to 7 so you can travel with more friends or pack in more tailgating necessities! Mazda Tops EPA Fuel Economy Trends Report for Second Time

Every year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) releases a report that highlights the most fuel-efficient carmakers in the United States. This year, the EPA Fuel Economy Trends Report has found Mazda Motor Corporation to be the number one carmaker in fuel economy for the second time in a row. Due mostly to the company’s use of their unique SkyActiv Technology, Mazda cars have reduced emissions significantly, helping keep the earth (and customers’ wallets) greener.

Mazda - EPA Fuel Economy Trends Report“Mazda has never been one to rest on its laurels, continuing to work hard, innovate, and engineer vehicles that offer class-leading fuel economy in nearly every segment it competes in,” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO of Mazda North American Operations. “Because the internal combustion engine is still used in more than 90 percent of the cars and SUVs sold in North America today, we chose to focus on perfecting both the operation and performance of the engine, as well as all the other systems and components that affect efficiency. Offering this technology—at an affordable price—to every consumer will help improve our overall environmental impact.”

And improve Mazda’s environmental impact, it has. The Japanese carmaker boasts the highest fleet-wide fuel economy with 28.1 miles per gallon, while also having the lowest adjusted CO2 emissions of 316. So next time you are looking for a fuel-efficient vehicle, make sure you stop in to Steet Ponte Mazda and see what green cars we have to offer!

2015 Mazda CX-5 Is a Safety Super Star

2014 Mazda CX-5The 2015 Mazda CX-5 has earned the highest possible overall five-star safety rating from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The perfect score applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the 2015 CX-5.

Although the CX-5 has not yet been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, it is an IIHS Top Safety Pick+, and had earned “good” scores in all crash tests. At this point, it’s difficult to directly compare vehicles, since federal safety scores are just beginning to be released for 2015 models. According to Edmunds.com, “it should be noted that the 2015 CX-5 already outpaces several competitors in this area, including the 2014 Ford Escape and Toyota RAV4, which earned four-star overall ratings”.

Every CX-5 comes with standard antilock brakes, stability and traction control, daytime running lights, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags. Mazda also provides the option for an automatic crash notification feature.

We take great pride in the safety of our cars. The CX-5 is a car you can feel really confident about loading your most precious cargo, your family, into.  Stop by Steet Ponte Mazda today to test drive a CX-5 and experience top-of-the-line safety for yourself!
